Reiki

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive healing technique that originated in Japan. The word Reiki comes from “Rei” meaning “universal” and “Ki” meaning “life energy.”

It’s based on the idea that this universal life energy flows through all living things, and when that flow is disrupted or low, it can contribute to physical or emotional imbalance.

Many people describe Reiki as deeply calming and restorative, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself. It’s often used alongside conventional medical or therapeutic treatments as a complementary therapy.

What To Expect?

A Reiki session is a deeply relaxing experience. You’ll remain fully clothed and usually lie comfortably on a treatment table. The practitioner will gently place their hands either lightly on or just above different areas of your body in a series of positions. Each hand position is held for several minutes, allowing energy to flow where it’s most needed.

You may feel sensations such as warmth, tingling, or a gentle pulsing, or you may simply feel calm and peaceful. Some people even drift into a meditative or sleep-like state during their session.

Every person’s experience is unique—some feel an immediate sense of relaxation or emotional release, while others notice subtle changes over the following days. Reiki is safe, gentle, and can be used alongside other medical or therapeutic treatments to support healing and reduce stress.

  • You may feel a sense of warmth, tingling, relaxation, or nothing at all during a session.

  • It can be beneficial to drink water and rest after a session.
