Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage is the application of a range of therapeutic massage techniques to treat muscles that are knotted, tense, and stiff.

It aims to relieve pain, improve movement, and support the body’s natural healing processes. Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, whether you’re managing an injury, recovering from physical strain, or seeking relief from chronic pain or postural tension.
What To Expect?
Before your massage begins, your therapist will discuss your medical history, current concerns, and any specific areas of pain or tension. This allows them to tailor the treatment to your individual needs and ensure the techniques used are both safe and effective.
During your session, you’ll be comfortably positioned on a massage table, and the therapist will use a range of techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, stretching, or myofascial release to address problem areas. The pressure can be adjusted to your comfort level at any time, and communication is encouraged throughout your treatment.
You may feel areas of mild tenderness as tension is released, followed by a sense of relaxation and improved ease of movement. After your session, your therapist may provide advice on stretches, posture, or self-care strategies to help maintain your results.
Remedial massage can be used as a standalone treatment or as part of a broader physiotherapy, osteopathy or myotherapy management plan to help reduce pain, improve function, and support long-term recovery.

What’s the Difference Between Remedial Massage and Myotherapy?
Remedial Massage focuses on relieving muscle tension, reducing pain, and promoting relaxation through hands-on techniques such as deep tissue massage and stretching.
Myotherapy takes a more clinical approach, with practitioners trained at an Advanced Diploma or tertiary level to assess and treat the underlying causes of pain. In addition to massage techniques, Myotherapists may use dry needling, cupping, joint mobilisation, and exercise prescription to restore movement and function.
Do you need a Referral?
Private Clients do not need a referral from your general practitioner (GP) or other medical specialist to book in for a Remedial Massage Appointment.
Referrals also need to be obtained if being seen under Work Cover.
Please note Remedial Massage is NOT covered under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Scheme and Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).

Why not add some
Hot Stones?
Enhance your remedial massage experience by adding hot stones for an extra level of relaxation and muscle relief. The gentle warmth of the stones helps your muscles soften more deeply, allowing your therapist to work more effectively on areas of tightness and tension.
This combination treatment not only supports recovery and improved movement but also provides a calming, restorative experience that melts away stress and leaves you feeling balanced and refreshed.
