Buccal Massage
A buccal massage is a facial massage technique that works on the muscles of the cheeks and jaw from both the outside and inside of the mouth.
The word “buccal” refers to the cheek area.

When performed by a trained esthetician or massage therapist, buccal massage is carried out with a strong understanding of facial anatomy, appropriate pressure, and safe technique, ensuring the muscles of the cheeks and jaw are treated effectively while maintaining strict hygiene practices, including the use of gloves for any intraoral work.
What To Expect?
Before your treatment, your therapist will take the time to understand your needs and ensure the treatment is appropriate for you. This may include discussing your goals and expectations, identifying any areas of pain or tension, and asking about habits such as grinding or clenching, or any jaw mobility concerns. You may also be asked about recent cosmetic treatments such as Botox, fillers, or skin procedures within the last six weeks, as well as any skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis, to ensure your treatment is safe and tailored to you.
During and after your treatment, you can expect a highly specialised approach that works on the deep facial muscles both externally and internally. The session typically begins with gentle neck and shoulder release, followed by soothing facial techniques to support relaxation and lymphatic flow. The treatment progresses to include the jaw, around the ears and eyes, lips, cheeks, brows, forehead, temples, and scalp. For the internal component, your therapist will wear gloves and work inside the mouth to access deeper muscle layers—this may feel tender, but often in a relieving way. After the treatment, it’s normal to experience some mild tenderness, however most people report feeling lighter, less tense, and deeply relaxed.

What Can Buccal Massage Help With:

Our buccal massage treatment offers deep relaxation to the nervous system and fascial tissues often impacted by stress or trauma, helping the body shift out of a protective state through gentle, targeted work on the jaw, neck and surrounding structures. By addressing areas commonly associated with tension, including the jaw and facial muscles, this approach can support a sense of calm and overall wellbeing.
The treatment also promotes improved skin elasticity and visible depuffing by enhancing circulation and lymphatic flow, assisting in the delivery of nutrients to the skin while supporting the removal of excess fluid. Additionally, it encourages more balanced fascial movement, helping to reduce restriction through the face and neck and creating a subtle, natural lifting and sculpting effect.
